World's Greatest Dad - World's Best Trophy

Good morning, friends!

I hope your weekend went well and your Monday is off to a lovely start.  We are finally (FINALLY is an understatement!) having a massive melt of all of the snow we had this winter - it was record-destroying and the snowbanks in front of the houses were over six feet high.  It was extraordinary!  It's been lovely to see the ground again, and - touch wood - our basement has stayed dry so far!

Today's project is looking forward a little bit... now that we've changed the clocks and the temperatures are warming up a bit, I'm starting to think about spring.  It seems so far still, but I know it will be here in the blink of an eye!

I wanted to create something using World's Best Trophy, one of the adorable sets from the annual catalogue.  I've had this one for months and to date, I'd only used one stamp from it.  I need to give it some ink before the tides of change roll in - I'd hate to see it retire without ever being used!

The beautiful True Gentleman Designer Series Paper was on my desk, and it led me to create a Father's Day card.  The colours in the paper were my guide for this rich Night Of Navy, Tranquil Tide, and Crushed Curry combination.

This card is another old one.  It's been sitting in the queue for a few weeks.  Truth be told, I've been in a HUGE creative slump lately.  While I normally joke that my hobby is "gluing paper to other paper to make prettier paper," lately, it's been more like "gluing paper to other paper and then throwing the whole thing in the garbage."  Sometimes, that's just the way it goes.  I forced myself into my craft room this weekend - I've been avoiding it more often than not lately - and though it took about three hours, I finally made something I didn't hate.  And then I made another the next day.  And then I made two more.  So hopefully the creative juju is starting to come back... I can hope!  Sometimes you just have to persevere.

In other news,  available now, you'll find this month's CrushOnColour Project Pack, featuring the Bird Banter stamp set - you won't want to miss it!
